Lasting Threads Care is a small, family-run provider of children's residential homes. Like any family, we don't pretend to be perfect, but we are committed to always reflecting, learning and growing.
We know that we are privileged to look after the children who live with us. They are some of the most incredible people we know, and we never take the responsibility we have for their care for granted.
Every day, we promise to show up, try our best and remember that we have an opportunity to make a difference.

We were established in 2019, and — after setbacks and delays from the Covid-19 pandemic — opened our first home, Fletcher House, in October 2022. We're incredibly proud of that home, the children who live there, and the staff team who've given everything to make it a success.
We're expanding carefully. It was important to grow in the right way, at the right time, without compromising quality. Our plan isn't to be the biggest provider — it's to make sure every child who walks through our door gets the same level of care we'd want for our own children.

Our name is also our promise
Fourteen small words, stitched into everything we do — Lasting: Love, Achievement, Support, Time, Independence, Nurture, Growth. Threads: Trust, Honesty, Respect, Enjoyment, Ambition, Diversity, Stability.
Every one of them shows up in ordinary moments — a bedtime story read twice because it was asked for, a school run made on time, a birthday that isn't forgotten.
Consistency isn't a policy for us — it's a promise
Every home is regulated by Ofsted and led by experienced, trauma-informed teams. We follow safer recruitment practices for every member of staff, and every child has a voice in decisions that shape their own care.
Each home supports a small number of children, so every young person is known well — their routines, their likes, their history.

Questions we're often asked
How quickly can you respond to a referral?
Our emergency and short-term service is built for this — we can assess and respond to urgent referrals at short notice. Standard residential placements follow a full planning process alongside the placing authority.
What is your current Ofsted status?
Fletcher House, our first home, has held a "Good" judgement in all areas at every inspection since opening in 2022. Full inspection reports are available on request.
How do you vet your staff?
Every member of staff goes through safer recruitment practices, including enhanced DBS checks, reference verification, and trauma-informed care training before working with children.
What age range do you support?
We support children aged 8–17 across all of our services — residential care, emergency and short-term placements, and therapeutic support.
Can families and professionals visit before a placement?
Yes — we're always happy to talk things through, answer questions ahead of a decision, or arrange a visit to one of our homes for social workers, family members, or other professionals involved in a child's care.
Is therapeutic support included, or is it extra?
It's woven into everyday life for every child in our care, not billed separately. Every young person has access to trauma-informed staff day to day, with specialist input brought in whenever it's needed.
