2019

A small idea, before it had a home

Lasting Threads Care was established in 2019, built on one belief: that children who are looked after deserve a service that puts them first, in every decision, every single time. We didn't want to be another residential home — we wanted to be home, full stop.

2020–2022

Setbacks, and a house worth waiting for

The Covid-19 pandemic delayed our plans more than once. When Fletcher House finally opened its doors in October 2022, it felt like something worth the wait — and it still does. We're proud of that home, the children who live there, and the staff team who've given everything to make it work.

2025

Jacob's House

We know that not every child can, or wants to, live in a group environment.
So we used everything we had learned over three years to create Jacob's House — our first solo home.
A home designed from the start around one child, their needs and their future.

Lenny Lodge

Our dream was always to create a home where siblings could stay together.
Lenny Lodge became our dual home — a smaller, nurturing space designed for two children.
A home where relationships can be protected, while each child still feels known, valued and individually supported.

Registration & our homes

Lasting Threads Care was established in 2019. Our first home, Fletcher House, opened in October 2022 following delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Every one of our homes is registered with, and regulated by, Ofsted.

Our approach to growth

We want to grow, but only in the right way. While we want to help as many children as we can, we will never sacrifice the values stitched into our homes that make them what they are.

Every home we open, every staff member we employ and every child we care for becomes part of our story — and we take that responsibility seriously.

We listen to our children, our staff and the social workers who work alongside us. We are never afraid to ask where we could do better, and if we ever need to pause our growth to protect our integrity and the experience of the children in our care, we will.

For us, growth will never be measured by how many homes we open, but by the difference those homes make to the children who live in them.
